Khosar Gang Expeditions 6401-M

The name Khosar gang peak 6400m in the balti language means Ice pumpkin. The glacier feeds the part of Shigar Valley situated on the left bank of Braldo river,near to kashmal village,sildi village,or yuno village,an hour  plus drive from skardu.khosar gang peak is an easy climbing peak , giving you opportunity to start your first high altitude experience in karakoram,involve crossing of ice which is mixed with little Rock present intermediate difficult.

A Valley that is 45 kms ride away from Skardu city. The first successful expedition was led by an American couple (Fanny & William bullock-workman) in 1899, which at that time was a world altitude record for women mountaineers. Day 01

Islamabad (500 –M) Arrival International Airport at Islamabad & transfer to hotel, official procedures. Welcome reception, and rest day at hotel .

Islamabad (500 –M) to Chilas 1200 -M ) Domestic flight Islamabad to Skardu  PK-451 (Flight is subject to weather). Upon arrival transfer to Incase of cancellation of flight (13-14 hrs) drive by coach to Chilas (480 km) on Karakoram Highway.(by air 45 minutes takes from Islamabad to Skardu )

Chilas / (1200-M) To Skardu  (a) free day at Skardu & transfer to hotel. (b) If you are driving, complete road journey (10-11 hrs) to Skardu (275 km) En-route has good view of Nanga Parbat (8125m) at junction of Indus River and the rapids and fall of Indus River. (c) Official procedures. Welcome reception(briefing) at  Ministry of Tourism at Skardu for briefing

Drive from Skardu to Shigar sildi village and continue trek to Khosar gang Peak (ACCLIMATIZATION AND CLIMBING DAY 04 .

Islamabad/Chilas Fly to Islamabad PK-451(Subject to weather). Upon arrival transfer to hotel. In case of flight cancellation drive to Chilas. Overnight at hotel.

Islamabad : Day at leisure. Overnight at hotel. In case of driving, complete road journey from Chilas to Islamabad. Overnight at hotel.

  • Any unforeseen expenses (such as road block extra hotel stay or if members stay more days at Base Camp) then members will pay according to the number of days spent at Base Camp.
  • Trekking members and climbing members will come together. If any/some member split during the period then extra expenses will be charged according to normal price.
  • JACKETS - Polar fleece jacket (wool sweater may be used but not recommended). Windproof / waterproof breathable jacket Gore tex or similar. Down jacket (optional but may be very useful during the cold nights and for trekking or mountaineering trips).
  • PANTS - Regular pants (better if they can transform to shorts). Polar fleece pants (optional but may be useful during the cold nights and for trekking or mountaineering trips).
  • UNDERWEAR - Long top and bottom (synthetic mid weight thermal underwear better).
  • SOCKS - Regular cotton socks. Thick wool socks recommended for trekking or mountaineering trips.
  • SHIRT - Long sleeve shirts recommended; in the highlands prevent from sunburn (also helpful when traveling to the jungle to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes).
  • FOOT WEAR - Lightweight boots or shoes for regular traveling.
  • HAT - Polar fleece headband, wool hat, or balaclava for the night, and sun hat with brim for the day.
  • GLOVES - Thin gloves for regular traveling. Other clothing. Bathing suit and bandanas are optional but may be useful.
  • PLASTIC BOOTS - Recommended for mountaineering trips on glaciers and above 6,000m (20,000ft), make sure they fit your crampons and do not hurt your feet.
  • LEATHER BOOTS - Recommended for short mountaineering trips usually below 6,000m (20,000ft). They are also good for "Trekking peak" trips to high volcanoes.
